BBK's HUNT-READY BIRD DOG TRAINING PROGRAM
At this time, we are only accepting dogs into our Hunt-Ready Bird Dog Training Program that have been bred here at Black Barn Kennels. Dogs must be at least 9 months of age before entering the program.

The training program typically lasts 2–3 months, depending on the individual dog and the goals discussed with the owner. During this time, your dog will live with us and stay at our boarding facility at Black Barn Kennels, where they will receive consistent, hands-on training. The cost of the program is $2,500.

Our goal is to develop a confident, reliable hunting companion while maintaining the temperament and drive that make the German Shorthaired Pointer such an exceptional bird dog.

What to Expect
While your dog is in our program, you can expect regular communication and updates. We provide weekly phone calls to discuss your dog’s progress and development. We also enjoy sharing photos and videos along the way so you can see your dog’s training firsthand.
Your dog will be treated as one of our own while in our care. Consistency, patience, and positive training methods are central to how we work with every dog.

At the completion of the program, we require the owner to meet us at an agreed-upon hunting preserve. This allows you to see your dog perform in a real hunting environment and ensures the dog meets your expectations and desired standards before returning home.

If you are interested in moving forward with this program, we encourage you to schedule as soon as possible, as we only accept a limited number of dogs for training at a time.

Once a training spot has been reserved, we will provide you with additional instructions and details to help prepare your dog for the program.
