Puppy Adoption Process
Price
Our current GSP puppy price is $1,200. A non-refundable deposit of $300 will secure a spot on the Wait List. Deposits are deducted from the full amount, which is to be paid at or prior to puppy send-home date.​ Payments are asked to be made via Venmo or Cash. We also accept credit cards to which a 3% processing fee will be added.
Wait List
Once you've decided to purchase a Black Barn Kennels puppy, you may place a deposit to be added to a Wait List. We will accept 6 deposits per litter. The deposit is a $300 non-refundable deposit. This reserves your selection-spot on the Wait List. If there were not enough puppies born to get to your position on the list you are on, your name and deposit will be moved to a future available litter Wait List of your choosing. Once on this Wait List, you will receive personal updates on all things regarding the pregnancy and litter! Contact us if you are interested in joining a Wait List.
Puppy Selection
The selection process is based on the order in which we receive deposits for our Wait List, and begins when the puppies are 5 weeks old. This is when the puppies' coloring, patching, and ticking are much more prominent (however keep in mind these markings continue to develop as the puppy grows). ​These selections are made virtually to keep the puppies' health as the top priority.
Your Puppy
Your puppy will go home with it's tail docked, dewclaws removed, microchip, their first round of vaccinations, and 4 rounds of de-worming (at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age). ​You will also receive a bag of puppy food, health records, and limited AKC registration. We complete the puppy's AKC registration for you. ​We work hard to socialize and stimulate our puppies, starting with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at days 3-16 of their life. Following this, they have plenty of monitored socialization with adults, children, their littermates of course, and other dogs. Black Barn Kennels sits on about 8 acres and we make sure your puppy has plenty of time outdoors too!

Please note: Beginning in 2025, all of our puppies are sold AKC Limited Registration only. The dog is registered with the American Kennel Club with the restriction that you cannot register that dog's offspring with the AKC. This means you cannot breed your dog. If you are interested in how this restriction can be lifted allowing Full Registration with AKC, please contact us as we would love to chat about that with you!
Puppy Purchase Agreement
The Puppy Purchase Agreement must be submitted at or prior to the Puppy Send-Home date.
Puppy Send-Home
Puppy Send-Home date is generally the first Saturday after the puppies turn 8 weeks old. Accommodations can be made if needed.
What's Next?
Our relationship doesn't end after puppy send-home day. As your breeder, we are here for lifetime support, so never hesitate to reach out with any questions. We also have a private Facebook group exclusively for our puppy families, where you can ask questions, post updates, or ask for help! We always love seeing photos & hearing how our puppies are doing! Feel free to follow along & tag us on social media with photos of your puppy.
Linen Donations Appreciated!
We use a lot of towels and blankets for our puppies & crates. Instead of buying new linens we do our best to utilize & recycle old, worn, stained, or unwanted items. If you happen to be cleaning out your closets and have unwanted towels, blankets, or sheets, feel free to bring them to us. We don't mind stains or snags and the puppies don't either!
